When you become an author, the first thing you want to do, is publish your models. First, go to your My Items page by clicking on the button at the top of each page (this button does not appear until you become an author), and then click the “Upload new” button in the column at the right.
1. Filling in item data
First of all, carefully fill in all required data. Try to be accurate and brief with the name and description. If you are including more 3d formats in your file, you can specify which ones in the item description.
2. How to create your ZIP file
When uploading your files to 3D Scrab you have to follow some simple guidelines to keep the general quality high and simplify usage of your model to the final buyer. Your download file must be structured as follows:
3D Models
Textures
The Render folder contains one or more renders of the model.
The Textures folder contains all textures used in the model.
The Exported folder contains other file formats for your 3D file (if you are including them).
Your model file must be in the root directory.
You must include an info.txt text file, where you have to put instructions, copyright information, explanations on particular naming conventions you might use or other information that might be useful to the end user.
Once you have compressed your ZIP file, you can upload it for review.
3. Thumbnail, cover and preview images
For each item you upload, you must provide several preview images. You have to upload all of them, and then select which one you want to use as Thumbnail and which you want for Cover.
Thumbnails are 125x125 pixels big and are shown in searches, bookmarks, and lists in general. The Cover is the image you see first in details page and it has a fixed width of 560 pixel, while it has variable height to a maximum of 1000 pixels. Any image of different size will be resized automatically by scaling its width to 560px keeping aspect ratio. Then, if its height is greater than 1000px, the central part of the image is cropped and used.
All other images you upload, are shown on the details page carousel, and have the same size of Cover image.
4. Use of copyrighted material
If you use in your own works fonts, textures, or other material not created by yourself, you must ensure to have an appropriate license that allows you to redistribute those assets.
Using parts of works coming from 3D Scrab in you own creations is strictly prohibited.
In general, do not use copyrighted material unless you have a license to do so.
Remember also that infringement of copyright rules, could result in temporary or permanent account suspension.
5. Message to the reviewer
You can write a brief message to the reviewer that will evaluate your item (max 1000 characters). You can also specify here a desired price for your item, but be aware that that prices are set at the sole discretion of our staff, and 3D Scrab is not obligated in any way to comply with the request.
